I must apologize for the typos in this morning’s post. My fingers hit the publish button before I had the chase to proof read the article. It was like accidentally locking the keys in the car. Back in the day, before remote locks, we used to push the lock down before closing the car door. There was a rare occasion when as I was closing that locked door, I suddenly realized the keys were still in the ignition. I could not stop the door in time to keep it from closing all the way. Aaaggghhhh!
Please excuse my errors. I did correct them. But you can’t see the corrections if you click on the email. You actually have to go to my blog page at www.veteransadvice.com.

I still have not received by 2012 COLA increase. Social Security issued the same COLA increase exactly on time to everyone (as far as I know) and yet has a much bigger database???? The VA received a Congressional mandate to issue the COLA effective 12/11/11….yet 3 consecutive pay periods have passed without receiving the increase. I dont get it?

You and approximately 7,000 other veterans are still waiting for their 2012 COLA. I have not been able to receive a reasonable explanation of who or why some veterans require a “manual” COLA entry. I even asked VA Central Office and have yet to receive any word of when they anticipate all manual entries will be completed.
All I hear from the Regional Office staff is, “please be patient.” How long do 7,000 veterans have to wait?

I’m still waiting. I received medical seperation pay which must be paid back at the 10% rate, so every year we receive a cola increase, I have to call and tell them that I didn’t receive mine, so they can manually review my folder, and enter my increase.
