Happy Tuesday. Usually on Tuesdays, I like to post a question and answer. Yesterday, however, I received a link to a newspaper, the Kitsap Sun, from a friend of mine who works at Guantanamo Bay Cuba. An article written by Tom Philpott provides some valuable information about reviews of Physical Evaluation Boards (PEB). Because of irregularities found in thousands of PEBs, Congress ordered the Department of Defense to convene a “Physical Disability Review Board.” Veterans are required to request a review of their PEB.
Apparently, veterans have not heard about the review. Very few have requested a review of their PEB. Please spread the word. This is an important issue that can greatly improve the lives of veterans and their families should they be retired instead of discharged.
